Celebrating Pride Month
Pride is the celebration of all LGBTQ+ people, young and old, and Childline is a space where all young people can share who they are.
What is Pride Month?
June is Pride Month. It’s a celebration of all LGBTQ+ people and a chance to raise awareness of the rights of LGBTQ+ people across the world.
Pride is an opportunity to show your support or campaign for LGBTQ+ people. There are loads of ways to get involved:
- Follow our tips and think about taking part in a Pride event near you
- Learn more about the history of Pride and the Stonewall Riots that led to it
- Find out more about any local charities for LGBTQ+ people and how you can support them
- Display a Pride flag or wear a Pride pin
- Share what Pride means to you on the message boards
We know not everyone feels able to celebrate Pride. Remember that whatever’s happening in your life, Childline’s here to support you.
