Whenever you want to appear confident, try acting as if you are. Try to make eye contact and walk with your head upright.

If you feel safe to, try 'fogging'. Fogging is a way of replying to someone who's being nasty without getting defensive or upset. You just need to calmly accept whatever they say about you without really responding. For example:

Someone bullying you: Your new hair looks really rubbish.

You: Yeah... OK, you might be right.

Someone bullying you: Didn't you hear me? I think you look like a loser.

You: Maybe... you might think so.

Someone bullying you: Whatever...

Fogging can help you to feel more in control and show the other person that their words don't affect you.
