4 things to do when you’re worried about the world

Whatever you’re feeling about world events, there are things you can do to feel better.

Whether it’s the changes in Afghanistan, the shooting in Plymouth or updates about climate change, there’s a lot going on in the world right now.

If you’re struggling to keep up with things or it’s getting hard to cope, there are things you can do to help:

  • Get the right information
    Situations like Afghanistan might be changing every day, so check news sources like Newsround for easy summaries about what’s happening. Remember that some things shared could be fake news or designed to scare you.
  • Talk about what’s happening
    If you’ve got questions, ask an adult you trust or talk to Childline if something’s upset or worried you.
  • Think about ways you can help
    Whether it’s making positive changes towards climate change, fundraising or helping to raise awareness, there are lots of ways you can help change the world for the better.
  • Take a break
    Do something that’s away from your news feed, turn off alerts or read about something you enjoy. We’ve got lots of ways to cope when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
