Christmas can be a time of great fun and celebration, but for some young people it can be a difficult time. However you are feeling you’re never alone, there’s always help available.

Family Problems

Christmas can be a difficult time for some families. There may be more arguments and more shouting at home. Your parents or carers may be feeling more stressed than usual.

You may also have to spend time with people you don’t like. You don’t have to go through any of these thing alone.

Missing Someone

Christmas may be a painful time if it brings up memories of losing someone you really loved who is no longer here. Maybe there’s someone who can’t be with you at Christmas for other reasons and you're really missing them. Talking about these feelings with a safe adult can really help.

Feeling Lonely

You could be missing your school friends or a teacher you like who is really supportive of you. It may feel that your family doesn’t get you in the same way. However, Childline is always here to listen to you.

Money Problems

This Christmas may be harder than normal for some families because of money problems, which can cause parents or carers to feel stressed. This could make celebrating Christmas more difficult.

Getting Help

Whatever is making you feel upset, there is always help available, you never have to go through anything alone. You can always talk to a safe adult or to Childline any time.

You deserve to be happy and to get the help that you need. Please remember no problem is too big or too small.
