What is doomscrolling?

Doomscrolling is when you spend a lot of time mindlessly scrolling through posts and videos online, which will often leave you feeling anxious or upset.

The word ‘doomscrolling’ started becoming popular during COVID times, where people kept searching for and reading bad news and negative content about the pandemic. Now, you can hear people talking about doomscrolling when they can’t stop being on social media.

Why do we doomscroll?
