Lots of people enjoy playing games, but there can be times when they start to get frustrated or they stop feeling good. If you’re not feeling good while you’re gaming, there are some things you can do to help:
- Report bullying or harassment
It’s never okay to be nasty to other people online, and you should be able to game without someone having a go at you or making you feel uncomfortable. Block and report abusive people.
- Be careful with in-game purchases
Games with in-game purchases can be designed to make you want to spend more and more money, or make it harder to win without playing. Think about whether it’s worth spending money, and ask your parents or carers if you’re not sure.
- Be positive
Be nice to other players, even when you’re playing random matches.
- Choose who can talk to you
Whether you’re on console, mobile or PC you can change your privacy settings to choose who can see you’re online, whether people can message you and who can see your profile.
- Look after yourself
Take time to eat healthy and drink plenty of water, and make sure you’re giving yourself time to do other things like homework.
- Take a break
If a game is getting frustrating or you’re not feeling good, take a break and do something else. Even changing to a different game can be a good way to feel refreshed.
