Wanting to do well
Some of you have tests and exams coming up and it’s understandable if you’re feeling a bit nervous about them. That means that you care about doing well, which is a good thing.
It’s when you feel really worried that it can be hard for you to learn and do your best. There's always help available and things you can do to help you feel better.
Find ways to relax
If you’re feeling worried, it can help to do things that can help you feel more relaxed. The Calm Zone has things like breathing exercises that can help you relax and feel less worried. There are also games like Build Your Happy Place where you can design your dream room. The Coping Kit has lots of ideas too and you can also get creative with the Art Box.
You may find that after relaxing for a little bit you’re able to learn better.
Getting help from a teacher
Everyone finds some things easier to learn than others and you may find some subjects difficult. It could feel upsetting to try really hard to learn a subject but still struggle to understand it.
You don't have to go through that alone you can talk to a teacher about it, they are there to help you. They may be able to explain subjects in a way that's easier for you to understand. You deserve to get the help that you need.
Talk about your feelings
One of the best ways to feel less worried is to share these feelings with someone. You can talk to a safe adult or to Childline any time. When you keep your worries to yourself they can build and get stronger. Talking about them is a good way to get these feelings out and it can help you feel so much better and more able to learn and do your best in your tests and exams.
Remember no problem is too big or too small.
