Hi there,
Thank you for letting me know how you feel about school.
It sounds like youre having an upsetting time right now. Youve done well to write to me about this. You do not tell me anything about what it is around school that makes you so scared or what makes you not want to go.
Feeling scared can sometimes make you feel like there is no way out or that no one can help. This is particularly difficult for you as you tell me that this has been going on for some time. School can mean different issues for different people and it can be hard when school feels like a place we do not want to go to.
How about choosing an adult who you trust and speaking to them about whats making you scared? You dont have to go through this worry on your own. It might be a good idea for somebody at school to know so that they can work with you to help make school less frightening. You dont have to start off the conversation by talking face-to-face if you find that difficult. There are lots of ways to get talking writing a letter, drawing a picture or whatever works best for you.
You mentioned that you cry when your mum goes. Im not sure how much your mum knows about whats making you upset at school. It could help to let her know too so that she can support you. If youre not sure about speaking to your mum or school yet, remember that you can always talk to a ChildLine counsellor instead. They can help you feel ready to talk to someone and think about what to say and how you will say it.
Im glad that you felt able to tell me what youre going through. Remember you do not have to go through this alone.
I hope you get the help you need.
Take care,
Sam

You can ask me about anything you want, there's nothing too big or small. I read every single letter but I can only answer a few each week. My replies are published here on my page.
