Sam

Hi there,

I’m really pleased you’ve been brave enough to write to me as it sounds like you’re feeling sad and having trouble trying to make sense of what’s happening.

I can hear that you can’t make sense of what’s happening but you shouldn’t have to. I want you to know that what’s happening to you is wrong. No one has the right to hurt you physically or emotionally and because it keeps happening, it counts as bullying.  Although you’re on your walk home, it is a school related incident so you can talk to someone at school about it to help make it stop.

Maybe you could think about the staff who work at the school to see if there’s someone you feel you could talk to and get support from. It doesn’t have to be a teacher, any member of staff should listen and support you with this. You could take a look at our bullying page for more information and advice. I think you might also find the message boards useful as you can see what other young people in a similar situation have done to get help and support.

You’re not on your own with this. Lots of young people contact ChildLine about bullying and the counsellors are there to support you. You might find it really useful to talk it through with one of them. They can help you work out who you could talk to, what you might want to say to them and maybe even work out if there’s anything different you could do to help the situation. You can call for free on 0800 1111, log on for a 1-2-1 chat, or send an email once you’ve set up an account.

Take care,

Sam
