Hi there,

It’s never okay for someone to share images or videos of you without your consent. If someone is threatening to share an inappropriate image of you, there are things you can do.

When this happens, it’s really important to stop replying to any threats or messages. You can turn off notifications or block an account if that helps. You can keep screenshots of what’s been said to help you report what’s happened.

Next, you can use Report Remove to stop any images or videos of you being posted publicly. If you’re under 18, you can submit nudes or sexual images and videos of yourself and the IWF will then make sure that they’re taken down. They’ll also make sure they can’t be uploaded in the future.

Whatever’s led to these threats, you still deserve support. You can report what’s happened to the police via CEOP. You can also report the account on the platform you’re on. Telling an adult you trust and feel safe with is an important step, and it can help you feel able to manage the threats.

No matter what you decide to do, Childline is also there to support you. You can speak to a counsellor at Childline any time about anything that might be happening.

Take care,

Sam
