I do not want my parents to worry about me if they find out i have called childline so i just want to know if it will show up on call history on our landline.
Hi there,
Lots of young people worry about whether someone will find out that they’ve spoken to Childline. Whether you’re calling or speaking online, we want to make sure you can speak confidentially.
Calling Childline on 0800 1111 won’t show up on the phone bill, whether you’re calling from a landline or mobile. Calls to Childline are free as well, even if you don’t have credit.
Even though Childline won’t appear on bills, the number can be saved to a phone’s history. On a landline, someone might also be able to redial the last number called. It can help to clear a phone’s history after your call and phone a different number afterwards to make sure it can’t be redialled.
We’ve got lots of information on how to cover your tracks when you visit the website or speak online. If you’re worried that you can’t use your phone or device confidentially, then it can help to ask someone you trust if you can use theirs. If you feel safe to, you could even ask a teacher for support to contact us in school or college.
When you speak to Childline, everything you say is confidential. This means that we usually won’t tell anyone what you’ve said unless you want us to. There are some times when we might need to pass on what you’ve said, if you’re worried about that you can read our full confidentiality promise or ask a counsellor before saying anything.
Take care,
Sam

You can ask me about anything you want, there's nothing too big or small. I read every single letter but I can only answer a few each week. My replies are published here on my page.
