A problem about a problem. Please help.

Sam, I want to talk to childline about a problem. But I'm worried that it isn't important enough to talk about. I do NOT want to waste councellors time, when they could be helping someone: suicidal, going through abuse or bullying, etc. Please can you help me? I don't know what to do.

Hi there,

Our counsellors are here to listen no matter how big or small you feel your problem is. If something matters to you, then it also matters to Childline – you would never be wasting a counsellor’s time.

You can contact Childline any time you like. Counsellors are there 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. However, overnight there is a limited service running. So between 1am and 7:30am counsellors would be working with you on how you can keep safe overnight.

You can contact Childline by having a 1-2-1 online chat, by calling for free on 0800 1111 or even sending an email. You can also find out what happens when you contact a counsellor and how to do it.

I hope that helps you decide whether you want to get in touch.

Take care,

Sam

You can ask me about anything you want, there's nothing too big or small. I read every single letter but I can only answer a few each week. My replies are published here on my page.
