We wanted to let you know about changes that Childline has had to make because of the coronavirus. Childline is still here for you and the boards are still the same amazingly supportive community you all make it!
But, to follow the Government's advice to keep people safe, a really difficult decision had to be made. The counsellors really want to support you and they are still there for you. But, for a while, they aren’t able to come in as usual. This mean the counsellors will be only there from 9am – midnight.
You won’t be able to speak to a counsellor online or on the phone from midnight – 9am from tonight. To make sure the counsellors can answer everyone who is waiting, you won't be able to join the chat queue after 10:30pm.
Switchboard will also be different – it will be an automated message to make it easier to get through when you call.
And there won’t be any 1-2-1 chat at all through the Childline app, just the website.
But you can still send a message from your locker at any time.
We know these are really big changes but the website is still here – all the info and advice, the games and self-help – 24 hours a day. And the boards are always here too!
And because of the changes, we’ll be extending our moderation hours, so you can all keep supporting each other.
