When my lungs no longer breathe and my heart no longer beats,
When my eyes no longer see and my mouth no longer speaks,
I'll still be me just further away, and in your heart I'll stay,
I'll be there for when you need me, though need me not you may,
When my arms cannot give hugs and my lips can no longer kiss,
I'll still remember how you laugh and that I'll truly miss,
My body may be in the ground, but my soul is still around,
Still watching and still loving you, though i cannot be found,
When you're scared at night and you need me there with you,
Though i cannot sing to you like i used to do,
Count your sheep, Try not to weep,
And know that i will watch over you as you sleep.
This poem is about my mum who passed away in January. whenever I was scared or sad at night i would sleep in her bed and she would hug me until i felt better. i really miss her and i hope that she is at peace now.
