Sam

Hi there,

No one should make you feel that you have to do something that you don’t want to. What he is doing is called 'blackmail.' This is where someone tells you they will do something bad if you don’t do what they say. What this person is doing is also bullying. It’s not okay for him to do this to you.

Nobody has the right to bully you . Bullying is wrong, it shouldn’t be happening and it isn’t your fault. The way to stop him spreading the rumours about you would be to tell an adult you trust at school, as they could help make sure he doesn’t spread untrue things.

Sometimes people ask for pictures of you naked or in underwear online or by text message. This is called sexting and ChildLine has an app that can help you to respond to people who ask you for these kinds of pictures. It’s called Zipit and you can download it for free on Android, iOS and Blackberry.

You might also want to talk to others on the ChildLine message boards – perhaps there’s someone who has gone through a similar situation who might be able to offer advice.

ChildLine counsellors are available to listen and support you too. You can send them an email, log on for a 1-2-1 chat or call for free on 0800 1111.

Take care,
Sam
