Hi there,

Exams can be really stressful. It’s important to take care of yourself while exams are going on. Remember to take regular breaks from work to give yourself a rest. This can help you do better in your exams in the long run.

You’re worried about getting good results and I can hear that you want to try and do your best. Perhaps you could have a think about which people can support you best at this difficult time.

You said that you know you do well sometimes and you’re good at maths and English. It could help to work out what’s making your mind go blank. If it’s because of stress, it might be a good idea to do something before your exams to relax yourself. It might be helpful to look at this NHS page on exam stress with an adult you trust, to talk about the different ideas.

Some people cope with exam stress by doing their hobbies or doing things they enjoy. It's good to find a distraction which can help take your mind off things for a while.

Remember that you can always talk to a ChildLine counsellor as well. They can help you look at what's going on and to think about what is causing your stress. They could help you come up with ways to make sure the stress has less of an impact on your life.

Take care,
Sam
