Im depressed/anxious/nervous of school, i get called a devastation by all the kids and i get laughed at. Im in year 9 (in year 10 in 4 weeks) and i cant cope. I would like to get homeschooled but my dad says its the last resort but i really want to get homeschooled! I used to be academic and did my work yo the best of my abilities but now im so down and depressed and feel like school is killing me. I keep having panic attacks at school and i have IBS, i just want to learn in my own enviromment...thats all i want and id be better/happier/relaxed. I just cannot cope at school anymore.

Hi there,
Thank you for writing to me. What is happening at school is wrong and it should not be happening. You have the right to feel happy and safe in school so you can be academic and enjoy learning without feeling stressed.
Being home schooled would be a big step to take it would definitely be worth talking to people who have school at home to find out more about what its like before you make that decision. Thats something you can do on our message boards if you wanted.
If you cant be home schooled, then it would be important to focus on changing how school is for you now. The best way to do this is to work with the school to find ways that they can help you feel comfortable again. Think about what would need to change for you to enjoy school again and take this to your teachers if you explain how you feel they should want to help you.
