Hi there,
Relationships can be a lot of fun but at times they can also be challenging. Finding it hard to spend time with each other could add pressure and mean that you really miss each other or feel upset. Its natural to feel like this when you are unable to see much of someone you care about.
Communication is very important part of a healthy relationship. Talking to each other and your parents or carers could be a way to be organised about making sure you see each other as often as you can. Being open and honest about your feelings can help other people to understand your point of view.
Its hard when individual commitments impact on your relationship or time together, but having your own interests is also important so you can be independent as well as part of a relationship.
It could be a good idea to remember that there are lots of different ways of keeping in touch even though you may not be able to see each other in person.
If youd like to talk more about what you could do, you can talk to a ChildLine counsellor at any time by phoning 0800 1111, sending an email or having a 1-2-1 chat. There is also some really good advice from other young people here on the Relationships message boards.
Take care,
Sam

You can ask me about anything you want, there's nothing too big or small. I read every single letter but I can only answer a few each week. My replies are published here on my page.
