Hi there,
Thanks for getting in touch with me. It sounds like your first kiss was a really exciting time, but I can hear youre confused about how to tell your parents so youve done the right thing getting in touch.
I wonder how it felt to tell your sister and whether youd be able to tell your parents in the same way you told her.
It sounds as though you might have a good relationship with your sister so maybe you could speak to her first as she may have some good ideas for you about how to tell them. You might even be able to practice what you might say with your sister, too.
Another idea would be to speak to your boyfriend. It sounds like you really care for him and you have been going out a long time. As hes already told his parents, he might have some good advice for you on how to tell yours.
Think carefully about when might be the best time to speak to your parents, for example, a time when they're relaxed or not busy doing other things.
If you want to talk some more about this, remember our counsellors are always here to listen. You can call on 0800 1111, log on for a 1-2-1 chat or send an email.
All the best and take care,
Sam.

You can ask me about anything you want, there's nothing too big or small. I read every single letter but I can only answer a few each week. My replies are published here on my page.
