Hi there
Thanks for your message. I am really pleased that you decided to tell me what is happening to you. It sounds like you are having a difficult time and it can be both hurting and confusing when someone who is close to us is abusive toward us.
I want you to know that its not okay for anyone to beat you up and its particularly upsetting to hear that you are being beaten up by a member of your family, who you know and love. No one has the right to hurt you like this and it is not your fault that its happening. You didnt tell me anything about things like who else is in your family or how often you see this person, but I want you to know that help is available. Some people in a situation like this have found it helped to tell another family member who they trust about what has been happening. This is often an important step in getting things to change for the better.
You could take a look at the physical abuse page in the explore section for more information and advice about physical abuse.
Its also important to be aware that if you ever feel unsafe, in danger or need medical attention from being beaten up then its okay to get help by phoning 999 in an emergency.
If you would like to talk to someone about this some more, how about contacting a ChildLine counsellor. They are there to listen and to support you and to help you work out ways to cope and to explore what options are available to you, if you wanted to get help. You can speak to them by phoning 0800 1111. Calls are free and confidential. You can also log on for a 1-2-1 chat and speak to a counsellor online. Remember, you are not alone - we are here for you and can help and support you.
Take care
Sam

You can ask me about anything you want, there's nothing too big or small. I read every single letter but I can only answer a few each week. My replies are published here on my page.
