My name is C** and I am 15 years of age. Around four years ago when i first moved in with my stepfather, he would sneak into my room at night. He never rape me but he would rub my thighs very close to my privates and rub my chest. I have vague memories of this as I had repressed them. What i would like to know is if that is considered assualt.

Thank you for your letter. It sounds like you have been holding these memories in the back of your mind for a long time and perhaps feel quite troubled by what happened. Its great that you decided to get in contact and tell someone about it.
Youve told me that your stepfather would sneak into your room at night and touch you in places you didnt want to be touched. Nobody has the right to do that.
Youve asked if what happened would be considered sexual assault. Being touched by someone in a way that you dont like without giving permission is a type of sexual abuse or assault. It's not okay for someone to do this to you. You can find out more about this on our Sexual abuse page.
It seems like what happened has left you feeling quite confused. Sometimes remembering something hurtful happening when you were younger can bring up a lot of difficult thoughts and feelings. You might want to think about whether theres an adult you trust to talk to.
