Every school should have one: how peer support schemes make schools better (PDF, 2.84MB)
Using first-hand accounts from teachers, pupils and staff, this 16-page report highlights the incredibly positive effects peer support can have on pupils and schools.
In the report, teachers and staff discuss how peer support schemes at their schools have reduced bullying and other discipline problems while increasing attendance. Pupils explain how peer support has improved their self-confidence, helped them overcome problems, and turned their schools into better places.
Finally, the report looks at what makes peer support work in any school - and the basic mistakes that can undermine a well-intentioned programme.
