Can you get pregnant from a swimming pool!?

Hi, friends at school say if a girl is on her period or has already started and she goes swimming and a man has an erection in the pool, you can get pregnant..

My mum, who I must add is a nurse -  she said you cant get pregnant at all and she said she'd never heard such stuff in her life and my brother said you cant too and hes a student nurse.

I think I believe her and I want to believe her but just to be on the safe side I wanted to see what you people think. I don't wanna prevent it from me and my boyfriend going swimming in the future that's all.

no you can only get pregnant if sperm enters you vagina in which case the penis is usually in the vagina so really the only way you can get pregnant is by sex.

No you can't get pregnant from a swimming pool or a public toilet or by masturbation. The only way you can become pregnant, is by having sex.

you cant, sperm has to enter the vagina to make a girl pregnant (and even if it does it's still only like a 75% chance) and human sperm (ironically) are really bad swimmers so wouldn't be able to get in in a swimming pool or a public toilet :)

I don't mean to offend you but this is the silliest thing I've ever heard! I don't know if your friends are messing with you or they actually believe this, but is totally false! Beleive your mum sweet.
