    Queen for the day

     

    Hi everyone,

    Have you ever wondered what you would do if you were King or Queen for a day?

    Personally, I think I would get a brand new computer with a giant monitor to display several message boards at one time so that I could reply to lots of threads at once.

    ChildLine are looking for your ideas on what you would do. You can use the Creative Tool or post your idea here in this message board thread.  If you decide to use the creative tool, make sure you title 'Queen (or King if you prefer) for the day'.

    The best pictures and ideas will be made into a gift to be presented to the Queen later in the year as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

    i'd tell everyone i quit being the queen and that thered be no more royal family. id get a normal house and give up all my money and things and give it to the public. id apologise for that englands had a royal family for so long.id be embarassed really.

    If I was Queen for the day I would dance with the corgies in Buckingham Palace, and throw a massive tea party for all my friends and family!

    Bit boring for some, but I would have a jolly good time :)

    If I were King for the day I would go around spreading the good word. Bird is the word. Also I'd try save the country and planet from destruction. There's a thing called a lifestream and if I gain access to that I will become much more powerful and knowledgeable.

    If I was queen for the day I would run around Buckingham palace ,I would throw an awesome party for the whole nation and or course family and friends, I would totally make sure everyone has the greatest jubilee ever!!!

    well to be honest i would spend ALOT of the time stroking walking feeding the corgies!!!!! they are so cute!

    If i were Queen for the day i would go round buckingham palace playing hide and seek with all me friends! Then i would try on all the cool dresses and expensive jewellary! Then i would donate lots and lots of money to all the different charities (especially childline! :)) and go on a massive shopping spree! Then i would hold a slumbover party for me and all my friends at buckingham palace! :)

    heyo,

    got some more stuff for if i was queen for the day!

    get more computers for childline 

    dress up as a royal buddy (buddy with a crown)

    help kids in my postition! 

    do whatever i want!

    I would invite all my family and frinds over have a nice dinner and then maby a little nice party and then with sucruity around me go out in the street and wish everone a good day heheh x x

    if i were her majesty the queen i would like a box wrapped in purple paper with a pink bow

    it would be presented on the road outside buckingham palace

    it would open up and turn in to a stage and in side dancers and other performers singing and dancing about the jubilee

    then it would make its way down the street and through london as it is on wheels

    it turn into a parrade and other floats would come down

    the last float would be one with union jacks on and an empty throne for her to sit on to take her to where ever she needs to be like a full english breakfast

    If I Was Queen For The Day, I Would Send 20 Million Pounds To My Adress. or Write a check, and make my family rich. But still enjoy my day as a queen, and get to know the royal family.

    if i was queen for the day i would help all the homeless people and give them food and provide them with sheter and would give to lots of charities because i wouldnt need all the money because i wouldnt make me happy and it could help so many people and animals suffering and many people have proved that you dont need money to be happy you just need a good family and supportive friends because to me thats all that really matters in life because as long as i'm with the people i love then i wont have the need for any money because i would be one of the happiest people in the world

    exellent. i dont know if the queen has the power to tell the primeminister what to do but if she does before i gave away my money and that id do one thing-

    id tell the primeminister to change some laws. one about trespass laws so people can be alloed to go in old buidlings. amd one so you cant keep people under the mental health act unless they are genuinely very ill.

    If i was queen for the day I would be so busy! I would come on ChildLine to write a message to everyone to say hi and keep going and fighting and just try and give everyone on here a little hope for the day. And then I'd send my Grandpa to a nicer nursing home and pay specialists to make my Grannie's knee better. I think id go to the poor parts of london, but unanounced and give the homeless people money and shelter and let them know we cared. Id want to say thank you to everyone for lettling me be queen for the day so maybe something like the Queen's Speach at Christmas but saying thank you and if i could id give everyone a free glass of wine to show them i meant it aswell. And then id end the day by having a huge sleepover and a giant game of hide and seek with my friends and then id treat them because they really deserve it.

    Thats what id do if i had the chance :)

Using the keyboard instead of the mouse
As well as using the tab key to navigate through the screen, the ChildLine website has special access keys:

Alt+S = skip navigation
Alt+1 = home
Alt+0 = accessibility information.

Is the text size too large or too small?
You can change your text settings through your browser options:

In Internet Explorer, go to View > Text size and select your desired text size setting (eg, larger, smaller).

In Firefox, go to View > Text size and increase/decrease using Ctrl and + or -

If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, you can hold down Ctrl and scroll back or forth to increase or decrease the font size in both IE and Firefox.

Changing your computer screen settings
To change the size of the image shown on your screen on a PC running Windows 95 and upwards, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings and change the desktop area by using the sliding bar.

On an Apple Mac, you can use the Monitor & Sound Control Panel to change the resolution.

Having difficulty with your keyboard or mouse?
You can fine-tune your mouse and keyboard settings under Start > Settings > Control Panel > Accessibility in Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and XP.

Skipping navigation for talking browsers and screen readers
For speech browsers, you can press Alt and S followed by Enter to skip navigation on our pages.
