 Why did you choose your Nickname?

    Why did you choose your Nickname?

     

    So I just changed my nickname and I'm curious to why everyone chooses there nicknames or past ones, so I decided to create this board where if you want, you can tell us why you picked your nickname, or previous nicknames.

    I put this in the introductions board as it's telling people your nickname and introducing yourself(I think) so hopefully, it belongs here.

    So, I chose my nickname OnlyConfused, because im so confused about how I feel about things, and if i should do things and if i love people when they are the ones taking part in hurting me and reallly I'm just so confused and that is the word that holds together most the feelings I have so if it would only go away...

    What about you. Is it your nickname, name pet name, how you feel, or something else? Why dont you tell us and tell us something about yourself?

    Carinne is a French variation of my real name. It means "friend," "beloved," or "maiden." I want to be a friend to whoever need me on here :)

    I chose mine, because I'm an Emo :3 and I'm a boy, and called Louis aha ;3 pretty boring really(:

    I chose mine because Suiginyou is my favourite anime/manga character from Rozen Maiden :D

    I chose mine because I like drawing pictures of little puppets on a string because they look so dark, creepy and remind me of that cute thing on Little Big planet :]

    The monster part is because I've always been fascinated by the cookie monster and the cake monster :D

    i chose AlexxSixx because my name's alex and im i love the bass player from motley crue nikki sixx, also the lead singer from bvb used to be called andy six. he's a big inspiration to me so i wanted to include that in my name :)

    I chose mine because my favourite subject and future career (hopefully!) is psychology, and my best friend always used to call me "bird" around the time I made my account! :-)

    I chose mine actually of what the mean people at school call me. I speak with a really noticable 'English' accent which is different to the others because everyone else speaks more casually than I do. I speak in this way because I lived in France for a while when I was younger and when I was fluent in French I then learnt more English from French, so somewhere in that period of time I picked up a very 'posh' accent as my peers would say. Anyway, as a result they call me 'snob' and 'posh-nob' but most often 'Lady'. I do like the title 'Lady' but they say it mockingly. 

    And my name is Jane, so I just put my name at the end of my nickname.

    I chose LeanOnMeWhenYourNotStrong because sometimes I feel alone, and I dont want others to be like that. I want them to know there is someone out there.

    I picked mine because I tell people I'm alright but I'm not really.... But my plan is when I get better and feel better and stop self harming I will change it x

    Because I love climbing trees, the place I love the most, other than childline, is up a tree. The wind in your hair just blows all your troubles away and allows you to think clearly about a solution.

Using the keyboard instead of the mouse
As well as using the tab key to navigate through the screen, the ChildLine website has special access keys:

Alt+S = skip navigation
Alt+1 = home
Alt+0 = accessibility information.

Is the text size too large or too small?
You can change your text settings through your browser options:

In Internet Explorer, go to View > Text size and select your desired text size setting (eg, larger, smaller).

In Firefox, go to View > Text size and increase/decrease using Ctrl and + or -

If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, you can hold down Ctrl and scroll back or forth to increase or decrease the font size in both IE and Firefox.

Changing your computer screen settings
To change the size of the image shown on your screen on a PC running Windows 95 and upwards, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings and change the desktop area by using the sliding bar.

On an Apple Mac, you can use the Monitor & Sound Control Panel to change the resolution.

Having difficulty with your keyboard or mouse?
You can fine-tune your mouse and keyboard settings under Start > Settings > Control Panel > Accessibility in Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and XP.

Skipping navigation for talking browsers and screen readers
For speech browsers, you can press Alt and S followed by Enter to skip navigation on our pages.
