    Being a Gypsy

At school a few girls bully me because I'm a gypsy, they call me 'Pikey scum' and things like that which are offensive because I'm one...

I've told the teachers they have had words with the girls but they didn't stop, so the teachers told me to ignore it, but I can't it really upsets me! what to do?:(xxxx

I don't see what people have against gypsies. It's your own choice how and where you live and what you do. As long as you are not causing trouble, what's wrong? - Nothing.

I think it is extremely horrible and sad that people have these perceptions, even if they've come across one gypsy who wasn't nice, it doesn't mean they have to treat others horribly just because of that. Everybody is different and it's unfair to form an opinion about a group of people when you only know what one is like.

Have you talked to your parents or family about this? It's definitely something that you can't ignore - they are bullying you because the way you live and that is discrimination. Be proud of yourself and hold your head high, there is nothing wrong with being who you are. <3

You sound really nice and no way are you a scum. Please don't believe what they say, and tell your teachers that you can't be putting up with this and it is really getting you down. For the mean time, keep away from these girls as much as you can, and don't give them the satisfaction of you looking upset.

You could also try chatting to a counsellor on the 1-2-1 chat and they may give you some better advice than I can. I'm always here if you need to talk (I know what it is like to be bullied ).

    Hope I helped a little,

    Guineapigsrock xx

    Hi there!

You have to tell someone like your parent and they can talk to your teacher about it. How old are you?
