I think I have an eating disorder...

    Hey.

I've recently started becoming obsessed with food. I hate it, so so much but I constantly want to eat it. All that's on my mind, day in and day out, is food but I can't eat because then I'll gain more weight.

I think my obsession started when I began secondary school. Before that, my body had never been a problem for me but now, I think I'm too big to be in a class full of pretty, skinny girls. I stopped eating breakfast for a long time and then, when I'd got the hang of stopping hunger pains, I stopped eating lunch too. Now I only eat tea at six o' clock but occassionally I'll slip up and eat snacks in between. When I do that though I throw up or I excercise excessively to get rid of the extra weight I might have put on.

There's this voice in my head telling me how fat I am and saying that I shouldn't eat and when I do he wants me to punsih myself for it :/

    I don't know what to do :(

Thank you for getting back to me.

Do you really think I need help? I wasn't sure at first and I know I need to stop throwing up but I'm not losing weight and I so want to.

I'm scared to get help too :/

I am having the same problems. I feel exactly the same, what I eat during the day tends to depend on what I weigh in the mornings. I also try not to eat breakfast, never lunch and try not to snack and if I do I feel very guilty. But I know im not but I feel like im fat.

I know it seems hard now to get help but if you have a friend or someone close to you who can listen and support you though how you feel, Im sure you will feel alot better and this could prevent you having a eating disorder problem if you tell someone sooner. Speaking to your mum is a good idea, if you find it hard face to face you could try writing her a letter of how you are feeling, for her to read.

Everyone is different and beautiful in their own way, and this is what makes us who we are.

I am having the oposite problem,, im stressed and depressed and DONT want to eat, but i guess an eating problem is an eating problem, i havnt told anyone about my disorder because im scared people will think im atention seeking or im just pathetic. But yours does sound fixable, go to someone about it! whilst you still can? it does sound pretty serious, so go to someone about it? anyone? a school councilor, teacher, friend? just, seek some kind of advise, not tellinganyone is a huge mistake i made, now its serious and i cant go back. But you can... :) good luck,x
