Hi thanks for your letter
I get many letters from young people in this situation. I will urge your girlfriend to go to her doctor for a pregnancy test. This will at least provide you both with a definite answer. Stress and worry can stop or delay periods too.
Pregnancy testing kits are expensive to buy and not necessarily accurate if not done right. You could check out with the Brook Pregnancy Advisory Service at www.brook.org.uk or phone their helpline on 0800 018 5023 for free and confidential advice.
Also have a look at www.maketherightdecision.co.uk this offers free and confidential advice with a helpline number of 0800 28 29 30, seven days a week.
I understand what you are saying about giving her support which is great, and what you say about not talking to her parents, but if your girlfriend is pregnant then you are both going to have to speak to parents. Both of you are under the legal age of consent to engage in sex (16 years) as the law sees you as children.
If your girlfriend is pregnant you must seek advice this could be from a professional person or an adult that you get on really well with. If you decided to have the baby, you would all need the care and the supervision of an adult and that means your parents. So first of all, get the pregnancy confirmed either way.
Also think about coming and talking this over with ChildLine on 0800 1111 or have a 1-2-1 online chat.
Take care of yourselves
Sam
