Hi there,
Thanks for you letter. It sounds like you are having a tough time at school and this teacher is really upsetting you. You have done really well to tell your mum and it’s really good that she is supporting you. It sounds like this teacher is treating you really badly and what she is doing to you sounds like emotional and physical abuse. This is wrong and your teacher should not be allowed to keep treating you this way.
You don’t say whether your school is aware of what is happening and if they aren’t it might be a good idea to talk to an adult at school that you trust - perhaps your mum could support you in doing that. The teachers at school are there to keep you safe and they would have to look into what you tell them and also offer you support in school.
You talk about your self esteem and confidence being lowered and it sounds like you are finding that hard to cope with. Often when young people have been through an experience like this they say the same thing and it can take a while to build it back up.
I can hear you say that it feels like it is you against the world and it sounds like you would like to share how you are feeling. Lots of young people find it helps to speak to one of the counsellors at ChildLine you can do this over thephone on 0800 1111, sign up for an account and email or have a 1-2-1 chat online with a counsellor.
Also you might find it useful to look on the message boards on the ChildLine website and read about the experiences other young people have had at school. You can also post a message yourself and other young people can respond with advice and support with what you are going through.
Take care
Sam
