Hello,
Thanks for writing to tell me about what is going on for you and about how you are feeling just now. It’s clear to me that you do not wish to change schools again. In your previous school you say you were bullied and didn’t have friends. This was clearly difficult for you and you coped by self-harming and thought about suicide as well. In your new school it sounds like you have settled well as you have friends you get on with, and you are getting good grades.
You have a right to express how you feel about your education, and if you feel that you would prefer to stay at your current school you are allowed to make your feelings known. It would be a good idea to consider talking to your parents or carers, so that they are clear about what you want and how you feel. It might also be worth talking to your teachers or pastoral staff at school.
Every school also has an obligation to deal with bullying and to take it seriously. No matter what school you attend, you have a right to expect to have your concerns taken seriously and to be listened to. In addition, if you are being bullied and it’s of a serious nature including physical assault or involving threatening behaviour this could be considered a crime, and you have every right to contact the police.
Remember that if you ever feel the need to talk to someone you can always contact a counsellor here at ChildLine – you can contact by phone on 0800 1111, log on and use the 1-2-1 online chat (like MSN), or send an email any time.
Take care,
Sam
