Hello and thanks for your letter.
It sounds like it is taking you some time to settle into your new life with all the changes. It’s good that you have managed to talk with your teacher about this. So well done!
It can take a while to settle in a new school, house and area so you are not alone. A lot of young people feel this way when they have to start again.
Joining a club or after school activity can be a really good way of getting to know other people. Is this something you might be able to do?
You talk about missing someone - are you able to stay in touch with them? Arranging a visit might make this easier to cope with and give you something to look forward to.
I wonder what makes you say that people in your household wouldn’t understand the way you feel. What do you think they might say if you told them?
I understand that you feel anxious about talking to someone at ChildLine but you could have a look at the message boards first. See how other young people have coped who have been in similar situations to you.
If you do decide you would like to talk you can have a 1-2-1online chat or call 0800 1111 to talk to a ChildLine counsellor by phone.
I hope things work out and good luck
Take care
Sam
