Hello

Thank you for contacting me. It sounds like you have been thinking about what sexual abuse is and if there is an age limit for someone being sexually abused.

Sexual abuse is when someone is forced, pressurised or tricked into taking part in any kind of sexual activity with another person or people. There is no age limit to sexual abuse, meaning anyone at any age can be abused. ChildLine thinks that abuse is always wrong, and wants you to know you can talk to a ChildLine counsellor about anything that might be worrying you. Also ChildLine are here for you if you want more information on a topic or issue.

You might find it useful to look round the rest of the ChildLine website. ChildLine’s message boards are a place where other young people can talk about things that are on their mind. You could also find out more by looking in the Explore section or talking to a counsellor using 1-2-1 chat or by calling 0800 1111.

Take care

Sam
