Thank you for your letter. It sounds like you’re feeling torn between following your mum’s wishes and being in a relationship with a boy that you really like.
You say that you’ve talked to your mum about it and she wants you to end it because she feels that he’s the kind of boy that would want to take things further but that you don’t think he’s like that.
It sounds like you see Declan differently to your mum. I’m not sure from what you’ve said whether your mum has met him or had a chance to get to know him and whether you think this might make her see him differently.
It’s also important to remember that you shouldn’t feel pressured into doing anything that you don’t want to, or don't feel comfortable with if he did want to take things further.
I’m wondering whether you’d perhaps like to talk to a ChildLine Counsellor some more about things, it may help you to work out what you’d like to do.
