I just don't know what to do

I have a boyfriend. I've had previous boyfriends but i'm his first. He's obviously kind of awkward around me and sometimes people can show love through saying horrible stuff if you get me? But thing is people say he thinks the world of me, but since the summer holidays he hasn't been the same ever since we got back at school, at the end of the day he hasn't hugged me goodbye or anything. Also i know he tried smoking when he was a bit drunk a few weeks ago but i've been hearing that he's smoking more and i really don't know if i want to be with a smoker. I'm getting really frustrated because he hardly spends time with me, talks to me or anything and its hard to get conversation because i'm putting in effort and he's kind of not and its getting me down because i know i'm trying and it just makes me feel like nothings good enough. I think i need to talk to him but i don't know what to say? Because I'm worried about his sarcasm comebacks or him just coming across like he doesn't care. What do i say to him? Because ...

Well, I've written to you 3 times and you haven't answered its making me a bit worried because im not getting any help. The main thing is im not telling the WHOLE story takes to long.
