My sister

My sister keeps on saying really mean stuff to me and hitting me and rifling through my room. I tell my parents but they don't seem to care I'm thinking of running away , what should I do?

Hi there

It sounds like what is happening between you and your sister is making you feel really unhappy.

You say your parents don’t seem to care and I wondered whether you could write them a letter? You could tell them what is happening for you. Even tell them how it makes you feel. You may want to tell them in the letter what you would like them to do to help you.

Running away can put you in a lot of danger when there are safer options to help you. Often, talking to an adult like a parent or teacher can help you make some good decisions.

You may also find it useful to post a message on the ChildLine message boards to see what other young people think you should do.

Try having a look also at Home and Families in the ChildLine explore section of the website. This may help you think about other and safer ways to sort out the problems with your sister rather than running away.

If you would like to talk through  your worries with a ChildLine counsellor then please call 0800 1111 or log in to a 1-2-1 chat.

Hope this helps
