Hello,
Thanks for talking to me about this. It sounds like you feel very stuck at home, and unsure what you can do to change that so I’m really glad you decided to get in touch with me.
You said that your parents keep you captured 24/7, and are mean to you. I can hear how distressed you feel about the way they treat you, it may be helpful to look at our Emotional Abuse information. It sounds like sometimes you feel scared at home. Arguing with your family can be really upsetting and you have the right to feel safe there. You can read more about family relationships on Explore.
You explained you feel like you’ve tried everything and I’m very concerned that you sometimes feel running away or death are your only options. Running away can put someone into dangerous situations. Looking at our information about running away may be useful. If you are ever thinking about running away, or about hurting yourself in any way it would be really good if you contacted ChildLine to talk to a counsellor either on the phone or online, at any time of day or night. If you feel concerned about other people finding out about what’s going on have a look at the information here about the confidentiality at ChildLine.
It sounds as though you feel nervous about telling your friends what things are like at home. Another way to get support or advice from other young people is to use the ChildLine message boards. You can look at what other young people have said, or leave your own message for people to reply to.
It is understandable for you to feel like talking about what’s happening. You talked about school being somewhere that you get some peace. Schools want to make sure that people are safe so if there are staff at school that you get on with have a think about what it would be like to talk to them. Another way to talk more about your life would be to get in touch with a ChildLine counsellor who can talk with you about what’s been happening in your life and how you would like things to change. Please remember you can get in touch with us at any time, and it is free to call us on 0800 1111 from any phone.
Take care,
Sam
