Hi there
I’m really glad that you have written in and really glad that you have been brave enough to tell me what is going on with your Dad. It also sounds to me like it is a big worry. It must be really difficult for you when your Dad drinks as you said you want your old Daddy back. You can find information in the explore section about alcohol and its effects.
I’m really glad that your school knows about what is happening for you at home with your Dads drinking and really glad that you are going to start having your own counselling at school to support you.
You have also said that your family knows about your Dads drinking. I’m wondering if you feel able to talk to them about the way you are feeling.
You can always contact ChildLine anytime and we are always here to listen to anything you feel you would like to talk to us about. No matter how big or small you think your worry is, ChildLine can help.
You are very important to us and our friendly counsellors are here for you. You can call us free on 0800 1111. The call details won't show up on the phone bill including mobiles and we won't tell anybody else what you say (only unless you want us to or your life is in serious danger).
If you don't feel like talking, you can also chat online through 1-2-1 chat (like MSN) or by sending an email. For information on what calling us is like and the different ways to receive support, why not take a look at the contacting ChildLine page? We are here to support you to find a way through this difficult time.
Take care
Sam
