Hi
It can really difficult on holidays and other special days like “Mother's Day” when you are reminded that someone close to you is either not around, or going through a difficult time. It’s not surprising you found that day particularly hard, and felt yourself getting annoyed.
You have heard that your mum is mentally ill, but you don’t agree, and you also think that they keep messing with her medication which makes her worse. There are many different types of mental illness, and different way of treating it which can sometimes make it hard for the doctors to find the right medicine and the right dose that helps your mum, because different people can respond to medication in different ways. The doctors will be working hard to find the right treatment for your mum, and sometimes this can take a while.
I don’t know how long your mum has been in hospital, and how much longer the doctors want her to stay there. Sometimes, doctors or nurses can explain to you a little bit about what is happening if you ask them, especially if they think you are worried and need to know a bit more. If you would like to talk to someone about what to do, or just want someone to listen to you for a while, call ChildLine on 0800 1111, or come online for a 1-2-1 chat.
Take care
Sam
