Hi there
Thank you for sharing with me the difficulties you are experiencing right now. It sounds like you are under pressure to please your dad and that seems to be why you are so scared to tell him that you have not done so well in your A levels.
Last year you made a choice for yourself when you chose to do a BTEC course, which I think was brave of you to do. An A level course is taught differently from a BTEC and perhaps a BTEC course suits your style of learning better, but I imagine that this may be difficult for you to explain to your dad and for him to understand.
Do you think you could speak to a course adviser, a teacher or careers adviser at your college or school? They will be able to give you some advice on what you can do next to suit your ability and future interests. If you asked and gave them permission, they could also explain to your dad the benefits and opportunities available to you, from studying a course other than A levels.
I also recommend that you contact ChildLine to speak to a counsellor, it may help to talk through how you are feeling. If you are unable to telephone you could have an online 1-2-1 chat with a counsellor (which is similar to msn). All you need to do is sign up for an account and use the online 1-2-1 chat or send an email. You can also telephone on 0800 1111.
I hope this has been helpful,
Take care
Sam
