Hi there
Thanks for your message. It sounds like you are having a really difficult time at home and that this has been going on for a while now. It sounds as though you try to help when your mum and step dad argue but you come off worse for your efforts. When you say that your mum spits at you and hits you, it’s understandable that you feel depressed but what your mum is doing is wrong and no one has the right to hurt you. Your home is a place where you have a right to feel safe.
If you ever feel that you are in any danger from your mum, you can contact the police by phoning 999. They should take what you are saying seriously. Or if you would like to talk to someone in person maybe you could think of another adult that you trust or perhaps a teacher at school - as they too have a responsibility to keep young people safe.
You might also want to think about talking with a ChildLine counsellor . The counsellors can tell you more about organisations such as Social Services that are there to help protect you in situations like these. The counsellor can also explain more about the kind of help that you can get. Remember you can contact ChildLine on 0800 1111 or sign up and use the 1-2-1 online chat. Calls are free and the number won't appear on the house phone or a mobile phone bill.
Take care
Sam
