Hi there
Thanks for your letter and telling me about what is going on for you. It sounds like there is a lot going on for you at the moment and you are finding it hard to cope with everything.
It sounds like you are struggling with your subjects at school and you are comparing your results to those your friends get. Sometimes it can seem like we have to achieve the same things as others and it can feel disappointing when we don’t. However we are each individuals and everyone will have different talents; perhaps it would be useful to think about other areas of your life that you feel you are good at.
From what you have told me it sounds like you are not getting on very well with your parents and you feel that they bully you. The way your parents are treating you is wrong and they shouldn’t be bullying you or swearing at you. Some young people find it helps to talk to their parents about that or speak to another adult they trust who might be able to talk to their parents for them. Perhaps it would be useful for you to think about an adult you trust who you could talk to.
You also talk about being overweight and it sounds like you are finding that hard to deal with. It might be a good idea for you to speak to your doctor about how you feel about your weight and they could offer you some support in how you might be able to change it.
You end your message saying that you feel you might break down and I want you to know that ChildLine is always here for you and you could come and talk to one of our counsellors. You can contact ChildLine anytime either by phoning up for free on 0800 1111, logging on for a 1-2-1 chat or sending an email.
Take care
Sam
