Hi there
I’m so pleased that you got in touch as it sounds like things are really tough for you at the moment. I get the feeling that you sometimes like to escape into another world through reading and it’s OK for you to do this. Lots of people use reading as a way of relaxing and travelling to somewhere else in their mind. I’m wondering whether you’ve ever thought about doing any writing of your own so that you can decide exactly what you want things to be like?
It sounds as though you don’t feel that your parents recognise that you’re trying and that they don’t really listen to you. You seem really good at expressing yourself through writing. Perhaps you could have a think about writing to them about what you’re going through. It might be useful to first write down a list of all the things that you’d like your parents to know and then check them off one by one as you write.
You’ve done very well to share how you’re feeling with me and it sounds as though you could really use some support at the moment. How would you feel about talking things over with a counsellor at ChildLine, either by calling free on 0800 1111, emailing, or having a 1-2-1 chat online?
Take care,
Sam
