Hi there
I think it’s great that you decided to contact me about this, talking about your worries for the first time can be a really difficult thing to do. You’ve mentioned that there is a lot going on in your life. It’s up to you what you talk to ChildLine about, so if you want to talk more about anything that’s happening you could phone ChildLine or have a 1-2-1 online chat with a counsellor.
It sounds as though you can see ways that smoking weed has been causing problems, but you also said that you depend on weed to make you feel better, so you finding things hard at the moment.
You’ve told me that you managed to stop smoking for at least 6 days, so have a think about how you managed to do that. You may notice there are things that helped you avoid smoking that you could use again. It seems as though it would also be helpful for you to find other ways to relax.
In the ‘Explore’ part of the ChildLine website you could look at both the smoking and drugs sections for more information, and there is also a message board about ‘Alcohol, Smoking and Drugs’ where you can share your thoughts with other young people, who may have had similar experiences.
You could also have a look at www.talktofrank.com. Frank is another service for young people that gives information and support about using drugs, and the website has a ‘need help’ section where you can find support.
Thanks for getting in touch, and please remember you can talk to ChildLine at any time.
Sam
