Drugs at School

last week me and my mate were staying behind after school in our english teachers classroom and i needed a stapler and my mate told me to get it out of the teachers desk... without the teacher there i said no but my friend went through the drawer anyway she found the stapler... but at the same time she found this packet of mucky white powder... my mate said it was cocaine.
just then the teacher came back and saw my mate with it... she told us that she had took it off a student and was sorting out the issue with the headteacher and we werent allowed to say anything.

we believed her and didnt mention anything... then on monday it was all over school about the drugs and i know i didnt say anything.

the headteacher wanted to know who spread it around school and it turned out the teacher was denying the drugs and the headteacher knew nothing about a student having drugs taken off of them - meaning that the drugs were the teachers!

it got back to my mate yesterday and she was getting into some right trouble for spreading lies and she got me involved and i didnt know what to say. the teacher didnt want us to say anything and i dont want her to loose her job without knowing the full facts but at the same time i dont want to be called a liar!

Hi there thanks for writing in

It sounds like you have put in quite an awkward situation and it’s understandable that you may be left feeling a bit confused.

When a teacher tells you to do something it can be confusing as often young people are used to being told that teachers are right and that you should do what they say. This is not always true, teacher can do things that are wrong and you should never have to keep anything a secret that you feel uncomfortable with, no matter who tells you not to say anything. You always have the right to talk about it with your parents/carers or anyone else you feel you can trust.

In this situation it may be an idea to go to the head teacher with your friend and tell them when exactly what happened, you have done nothing wrong and you are allowed to talk about this. If you feel too nervous you could perhaps ask a parent or carer to come with you for support.

You are welcome to come to 1-2-1 to talk further with a counsellor or you can ring Childline on 0800 1111.

Take care

Sam

People taking drugs and smoking in my school

People taking drugs in my school

Hi Sam, in my school there are students smoking or taking drugs at playtime or lunch time. It's worrying me and is starting to get personal. I think it's weed that they are smoking and even year sevens have been there at the edge of the yard, smoking. Should I tell the police or someone. I don't think the teachers know about it.

My friends have gone crazy

My friends have gone crazy

I have a few friends who I am quite close to.. These few friends have started hanging out with some strange new people, that they seem to really like.

Problem is, suddenly these few friends have started smoking, and drinking in excess to the point that it's probably bad for them. Their parents don't seem to care. Now it seems they're starting with other stuff, like weed and crack, and the new people they're hanging around with seem to have something to do with it. Help. Whenever we tell them that the smoking, drinks, drugs aren't good, they just laugh it off. These friends are only 15 or so.

Help?
