Hi there
Thank you for your letter. It sounds like this girl bullying you online is really upsetting you. No one has the right to bully you and it’s really brave of you to write in to tell me. There are different things that you can try to help to get it to stop. One idea would perhaps be to talk to an adult you trust maybe a parent, a carer or a teacher, who may be able to give you some support in getting it to stop.
I’m not sure exactly from what you’ve said, how she is bullying you online but many sites have ways to block people or a place you can report their messages or emails. Sometimes also changing your username or nicknames can help so this person is less able to find you.
There is a lot more advice on ways to stay safe online on the ChildLine Cyber bullying page and on the Think U Know website.
I understand that this type of bullying can be very worrying and you’re welcome to talk to a ChildLine Counsellor some more about how you’re feeling and the different options that you have and how they would work for you. There are several ways to do this you can call on 0800 1111 (all calls are free and don’t show up on the bill) or by using the 1-2-1 online chat (it works a bit like MSN messenger).
I’m really pleased that you found that having people from ChildLine come in to talk to you gave you the courage to write in.
Take care,
Sam
