Hi there
When I read this letter, I can tell that you are a young person who tries very hard to deal with a tough situation. I am so glad that you wrote to me. You are as valuable as any other young person and deserve some support.
It seems that, although there was an improvement in your situation, the bullies are still being really difficult and making school an unhappy and lonely place for you to be. I am glad to hear that you have a supportive family and although people are trying to tell you to ignore the bullies and “get over it”, that can be very difficult to do without the right kind of support.
I sense your disappointment with school and it seems because they have not supported you in the way you would like, the bullies are still powerful. I feel like you are now saying enough is enough! Your school’s anti-bullying policy will explain what they need to do when pupils are bullied. Maybe you could check this out. School have the responsibility to make sure that you are safe at school, with a real chance to be happy and enjoy your education. They should look at any incidents of bullying and then let you know what they intend to do. If this doesn’t happen, bullying can be reported to the school governors or the Local Education Authority in your area. I’m wondering if there is any adult in school who you could share this with.
If you can’t talk to anyone about this just now, how would you feel about getting in contact a ChildLine counsellor, who will listen and help you to find a way forward. You can ring for free on 0800 1111 or you could have a 1-2-1 chat online.
You could also look at the bullying section of the ChildLine website or maybe the Bullying message board where the ChildLine community help each other by sharing experiences and ideas.
Please remember that you do not need to deal with this alone. I do hope you might make contact.
Take Care
Sam
