Hi there
Thank you for your letter. It sounds like you’re having a tough time at the moment, especially as it’s been going on for a year.
You say people have been calling you hurtful names. What’s happening is bullying, and it’s wrong. You have the right to feel safe and the school have a responsibility to deal with any bullying. You might want to think about whether there’s an adult you trust who you could talk to about this.
It also seems like your best mate isn’t being very supportive at the moment, which is making you feel a bit down. I wondered if you feel able to speak to your friend about how you feel?
I’m really concerned that your friend’s boyfriend is swearing at you and hitting you. No one should be doing this. If you do ever feel like you’re unsafe or in danger and need help quickly, you can call 999 and speak to the police.
It sounds like there is a lot happening for you right now. You’re welcome to speak to a ChildLine counsellor to talk about how you feel and what you want to do. You can do this by calling free on 0800 1111 or online using 1-2-1 chat (like MSN). You can find lots of other information about bullying in the Explore section and on the message boards as well.
I hope this has helped,
Sam
