Hi there
You did the right thing to talk about this. What is happening for you is not your fault. You've been really brave to write to me and I’m glad you did. Your letter is sure to help other young people too.
Bullying is very wrong and it’s never okay for anyone to make you feel badly. When you are being bullied it’s important to think about who you might tell – the best people to speak to are trusted adults and these can be a mum or dad, an aunty or uncle or a teacher for example. You did the right thing to talk to your aunty about the bullying – I wonder if she has talked to you about what you might be able to do about this.
Your school has to make sure that you are safe when you are in school – that means that they have to stop the bullying from happening. However, they can only do that if they know what is happening. Have you ever had to talk to a teacher about wetting yourself in class? It could be a good idea to tell them why this is happening and how you are feeling about this. While wetting yourself can feel really embarrassing it happens to a lot of young people, and there is help out there for them and you.
To help with the bullying, I think it’s really important you talk to your mum and to your teachers in school. You can find out more about what you can do about bullying on www.bullying.org.uk – there is information on there for your mum too. For support on wetting yourself you can visit www.eric.org.uk – it gives loads of information about what might cause it and who can help. There is even a helpline you can call if you want to talk.
You’ve done the right thing to talk about it – there is help out there for you. Don't forget, if you do want to talk a bit more about this or have any other questions you can always contact a ChildLine counsellor by phone (0800 1111) or online.
Take care
Sam
