Hi there
Thank you for your letter. I think you have done really well to realise that you might need some extra support to get through your current situation at school.
The experience of being bullied can have a huge impact on the way we feel about ourselves. It is understandable that you might have slipped behind with homework and you sometimes feel like crying and it is not ok to be treated in this way by anyone ever.
You have said in your letter that your form tutor has noticed the change in you and that you don’t seem to be your usual self. ChildLine takes bullying very seriously and you might find some useful ideas of how to respond to bullying on the website, as well as looking at some of the threads from other young people on the Message boards.
I think you have shown great courage to begin to talk about what has been going on for you and how difficult school life has been. Your school has a ‘duty of care’ to provide all pupils/students with a safe and supportive environment whilst in their care. It might be an idea for you to consider talking to your Form Tutor, or a teaching assistant you feel comfortable with, about what has been happening to you.
If you want some further support you can talk to a ChildLine Counsellor on 0800 11 11 (it is free to call and won't show up on the phone bill including mobiles) or sign up on the website and use 1-2-1 online chat (like MSN).
Take care
Sam
