Hi there
Thanks for taking the time to write to me about how you are feeling and also about what is happening to you and your brother. It’s really good that you feel able to talk to someone about what is happening and there are people that can help you and your brother. You have done the right thing to talk about this.
I can really hear that things feel difficult at the moment for you and your brother and also that you feel as though you would really like to help protect your brother.
What these boys are doing when they bully you and your brother is wrong and they have no right to treat you both in this way. Punching another person can be described as assault and that is a crime – no one has the right to hurt another person and it’s okay to talk about this. You can even talk to the police about what is happening.
It can be hard to ask for help with bullying but it is important to tell someone you trust like maybe a trusted adult as they might be able to help change things. It’s really important to also try to stay as safe as you can, by being together or with others.
You have told me that you have cried a lot about this. How would it be for you to think about contacting ChildLine to speak to a counsellor? You can talk to a counsellor by calling 0800 1111. Calls are free from all phones including mobiles, and won't show up on the bill. You can also speak to a counsellor online through 1-2-1 chat. All you need to do is register to use this on the ChildLine website. On the ChildLine website there is also a Bullying message board where young people can post and read messages to each other, you may also find these useful.
Take care,
Sam
